ACEC Business Insurance Trust

The ACEC Business Insurance Trust Plan was established in 1983 in response to the need for a business insurance program tailored to the unique exposures faced by engineering firms. The objective then was to provide competitively priced business insurance, with broad coverage and quality claims handling from an insurance company that is stable and strong.

The ACEC Business Insurance Plan is the officially endorsed and sponsored program of the American Council of Engineering Companies. From the beginning, ACEC has taken an active, involved role. The Business Insurance Trust selects principals from ACEC firms to serve on the ACEC Business Insurance Trust. The Trust meets at least twice annually and monitors the activities of Marsh, Inc., and The Hartford. The Trustees evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the Business Insurance Plan and suggest ideas for improving and promoting the program. The active role and involvement of ACEC and the Business Insurance Trust has helped to continually improve the program and to assure that the interest of participating firms are always top priority. It can be truly said of the ACEC program that it is a program that is designed for engineering firms by engineers.

Marsh Inc. is the administrator for the ACEC Insurance Plan. A dedicated group of people in the St. Louis office staff the ACEC Business Insurance Center. These people are assigned exclusively to this program and are committed to meeting the needs of the individual ACEC member firms participating in the program.

The Hartford has been the underwriter for the ACEC Business Insurance Plan since its inception in 1983. The Hartford's commitment to this program has assured that ACEC firms are provided with quality coverage and claim service. The Hartford carries an A+ rating with the A.M. Best Company, one of the highest financial ratings available.

ACEC Life/Health Insurance Trust

Life/Health Insurance, administered by Seabury & Smith, puts the buying power of ACEC's membership to work for you.  Seabury & Smith provide good value and quality service on comprehensive medical insurance, employee and dependent life insurance, disability income, hospital indemnity, dental and audio-vision care. ACEC Retirement Trust

Retirement Plans, administered by Prudential for participating ACEC firms, allow a choice of flexible plan provisions and investment options.
