Gerard Kent has photographed at Robert Evan's estate in Beverly Hills (The Kid Stays in the Picture, Kid Notorious, Chinatown), where the late Helmut Newton, a longtime friend of Evans frequently shot. Robert Evans said at the recent Ace Gallery photography auction that  photography is the current art to collect.  Robert  Evans says Gerard Kent is the current Quintessential photographer working in Hollywood, living the Helmut Newton photo legacy of music, film and artistic nudes,  whose photo work is to be collected like valuable art work.

Gerard's keen eye has photographed the early pictures of bands  such as arcade fire , models, and actresses such as Amy Smart, Jewel, Gwen Stefanie of No Doubt  Fiona apple, and newest bikini swimsuit model discovery Marielle of Germany. He is currently based in Malibu, Hollywood , California.His interests include film he has a been  judge for the International  Documentary Film awards in Los Angeles

His youth  was spent listening to the radio and hanging out with his radio DJ  friends,;concert promoter Russ Gibb and record producer Bob Dennis met George Clinton at his recording studio (producer of George Clinton and former  Motown engineer)also he met photographer leni Sinclair who influenced his like for music people  photography   .when he was young   he turned on the radio and heard  Mitch Ryder singing the song "Rock;n' Roll" better than Lou Reed ( LOU REED HIRED STEVE HUNTER FROM DETROIT TO PLAY ON ROCK N'  ROLL ANIMAL ALBUM )  He met the band Spirits drummer Ed Cassidy (one of the great rock music drummers in the world). Because of the song "California Dreaming" he dreamed every night meeting Michelle Philips of the Mamas and the Papas, and eventually did in L.A.

Gerard is very grateful to the photographers whom he has met in Los Angeles     , David Baily, Henry Diltz, the late  Allen Ginsburg, Jim Marshall, the late Helmut Newton , Bert Stern,  Phil Stern,Victor  Skrebneski the late Edmund Teske, and who have influenced him .
