Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir consists of people from college age and up who like to sing. No audition is required to participate and everyone is welcome. The choir rehearses every Thursday evening from 7:15-9:00 p.m. and every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. The choir strives to reach excellence in church music, which makes the worship experience more meaningful for everyone. The community is enriched by the fellowship and closeness attained through making music together.

Children and Youth Choirs

The choirs are an extension of the Christian Education curriculum for all ages pre-school to grade 6. The pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st graders form the Cherub Choir. This choir practices every Sunday from 10:20 to 10:45 a.m. Parents may pick up their children between the worship services in the Althaus Chapel. Contact person is Paula Aiken, 842-8503.

The Chapel Choir consists of children in grades 2-6. This choir will be led by Kathy Bowman.

Handbell Choirs

Practices are in 207N
For times and more info call Barbara Kelly (842-2564) the church office (843-3220) or Bill Kelly (843-2403). The bell choir now has it's own website: www.plymouthbellchoir.com and e-mail: plymouthbellchoir@sunflower.com.

The handbell choirs are a special music medium that has been with Plymouth under the direction of the Kelly family for 32 years. There are no pre-requisites other than the desire to make music and a commitment to rehearsal attendance.

Each group rings in church five or six times during the ringing year, which lasts from mid-August through April. Creativity is stressed. If a ringer is interested in solo, duet, or ensemble ringing, they are given the opportunity. We also have quartets during the holiday season that can easily go to the homes of the elderly. Each summer those interested attend an annual festival or, if more time can be spent, we tour in the United States.

Sixth graders through adults are very welcome. We need new ringers and hope our experienced ringers will return, for we will need them to stabilize performance in every choir.

Do not worry if you cannot read music - we will teach you! Rehearsals are set for the convenience of the ringers. If you have taken a vacation from the choir, join us again - we've missed you!
