Drs. Robert Gunnink and Greg Pupillo at Franciscan Skemp Healthcare in
La
Crosse, WI.  The practice is primarily general adult neurology with
some
pediatric neurology.  To complement the subspecialty interest areas of
epilepsy and sleep disorders of our current neurologists, having a
third
neurologist with interests such as electromyography, MS, movement
disorders
or stroke patients would be desirable.
> Call will be equally shared among the neurologists. Our Neurology
service
is part of a neuroscience team, including adult neurology, a
consistently
growing neurosurgery practice, neuroradiology, neuropsychology, as well
as
pediatric neurology outreach services from Mayo Clinic-Rochester.  The
Neurology Department at Franciscan Skemp has close collegial,
supportive and
educational ties with the Neurology Department at Mayo Clinic in
Rochester,
MN.

providers
serving a patient population base of 240,000.  Neurology referrals come
from
providers within our health system, the La Crosse-Mayo Family Practice
Residency Program, with five faculty and 20 residents, as well as
independent physicians within 60 miles of La Crosse.  In addition to
its
main clinic/hospital in La Crosse, WI, Franciscan Skemp Healthcare has
two
other small community hospitals in WI and twelve other clinics located
in
WI, MN and IA.

> The Medical Center in La Crosse (250 beds) has a full
neurodiagnostics lab
with EEG, EP, polysomnography and video-EEG.  The EMG lab is located in
the
Clinic.  Radiology services include MRI, CT, ultrasound, angiography
> and radionucleotide scans.  There is a 15-bed ICU/CCU, cardiac cath
lab,
Renal Dialysis Unit, NICU, Day Surgical Unit and Rehabilitation Unit. 
The
Emergency Medical & Trauma Center is staffed 24 hours by Emergency
Medicine
physicians.  The clinic facility is physically connected to the
hospital.
Construction is underway for a 100,000 sq. ft. La Crosse Campus
expansion.
This will house new inpatient and outpatient OR suites and a new Cancer
Center in the first phase.  A combined ER/Urgent Care facility is
planned
for the next phase.
