Pediatric Intensive Care Position
The Section of Critical Care Medicine at Hope Children's Hospital, the major pediatric affiliate of the University of Illinois at Chicago, has an immediate opening for a BE/BC Pediatric Intensivist to join 6 pediatric intensivists in a rapidly expanding service. The PICU is a 19 bed, soon to be 24 bed, multidisciplinary, state-of-the-art unit, within a regional children's hospital in the Chicago metropolitan area. The position offers unique opportunities in an active clinical program with both clinical and basic science research projects and carries an academic appointment to the University of Illinois.
The division provides comprehensive critical care management to over 1600 patients per year, including pediatric and cardiac ECMO, nitric oxide, HFOV, and renal replacement therapies. All medical and surgical pediatric subspecialties are represented. An active air and ground transport program provides services to over 1000 infants and children in the tri-state area.
The division boasts an ACGME approved fellowship in PCCM. Our institution is one of only four Pediatric Trauma Centers in the State of Illinois.
